Update on Treasurer’s Report (Janis)
Still not done with finalizing the books for 2016. More work to complete soon. Janis will be working on transferring the Treasurer position to Chris.
Update on Zimfest Children’s Village GoFundMe Page (Evelyn)
Evelyn is setting it up to be reviewed. Find ways to periodically connect with the community, by having several in smaller increment goals. A point was raised about specifically putting out a page out for children. We are looking into crowdsourcing possibilities to see if we can have different fundraising pots so that people can choose the area they want to donate money to within Zimfest.
Tech Infrastructure Improvement Plan for 2018 (Alex)
We need to work at how to get out of relying on Jake and Alex for the infrastructure. Alex suggests that he shouldn’t be a part of that plan in looking at new programs. We need to come up with requirements of what would be useful to run the festival. He feels that he is too close to the program to be able to look at one in a nontechnical way. We have an offer of someone to chair the tech. committee. We also have an offer of someone to help with registration from the tech. side. We need a system where non tech. people can run it. When looking for out of the box programs/systems, if one doesn’t seem to fit us, we may need to look to see if we can simplify how we do things.
Continue with fundraising for the year. Without the festival happening this year it is a particularly good time to contribute. Membership letter will go out soon.
