Why and How to Volunteer

Volunteerism is at the heart of every Zimfest – volunteers help organize and run this entire festival!

Welcome New & Returning Volunteers!

“The Zimbabwean Music Festival is a not-for-profit event staffed wholly by volunteers… Each year, more than 250 people register for workshops and many more enjoy the concerts and marketplace. The festival now presents almost 100 workshops and 25 hours of concerts.”
— Claire Jones, Festival and Site Coordinator

Attendees are the volunteers!

All festival attendees can help with the success of the festival by volunteering for a task or two! You choose when and how much you want to be involved. Help now, later, or both!

How can Festival attendees help during the festival?

You can sign up for volunteer shifts online at the same time you register for workshops. Sign up for as many shifts as you would like!

Many consider “working” the festival as important as attending; the involvement in festival operations is an integral part of their festival experience. And many plan their travel around festival needs. During Zimfest weekend, shifts run from 8 a.m. Thursday through 11 a.m. Monday, with much to be done by volunteers every waking hour between, including late night and early morning!

Consider helping now — in advance of the festival

Contact us now! Use the Volunteer Contact Form below to offer your help any time before the festival. Zimfest 2020 volunteer efforts began late in 2019 with the formation of the 2020 Organizing Committee and will continue through the festival weekend.

Have extra time during the festival?

Volunteers – coordinating efforts at registration!

The volunteer desk in the registration area is the hub for matching festival needs with folks who can help at any given moment. Stop by the volunteer desk whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, anytime during the festival, to see what you might be able to do to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!.
