Zimfest 2029
The Board continues communication with an interested host for Zimfest 2029.
Grant Updates
Another board member is needed to sign on as 2nd administrator with SAM.gov, a federal website that oversees registered entities (“unique entity” number needed for many grant applications). We will need to update our information with them, for example a change of address needs to proactively be reported to them. Claire will add Heather as the second representative for now.
Application for Community Accelerator grant in progress. Claire and Parker will coordinate with Audrey Neubauer to get this submitted.
Festival Coordinator Position
We should put a post on our social media, and send information out to other nonprofits. Angela will send the web page and some information out. Parker will hit post on social media posts.
The Transition Team will transition to being the Hiring Team. Claire, Angela, Parker, and Mandy have offered to participate in the hiring process, plus Charlie since he was on the previous team. The Team won’t make any hiring decisions without Board review, and welcomes feedback from other Board members.
Communication Matters
Heather will write a thank you letter to Alaska Community Foundation.
Parker has sent a draft blog post to Claire re: including Zimfest in wills.
Caden has been too busy to follow through with making sure we regularly communicate with our community. Angela will help with posting to the blog, and will create an account with Larry. Parker and Mandy will help with cross-posting announcements to Facebook and Instagram.
