Interview with Prospective Board Member (All)

The Board interviewed a potential returning board member, and voted to invite her to join. We welcome Angela Marie back to the Board! Maria and Mandy will onboard her.

Task Force on Replacing Festival Coordinator (All)

This task force will work together to plan festival coordination moving forward. Claire, Mandy, Angela, Charlie, Caden are interested in joining the task force. Angela will chair the task force, and once she gets a Zimfest email she will connect with the members about a time to meet.

Claire will post to the blog that she is leaving the position of Festival Coordinator.

Zimfest Association Mailing Address (Claire)

Mandy will take over the official Zimfest Association mailing address; Heather will use her address if it’s financially related. The Treasurer will update the address in WA State Charities annual reports and renewals as needed.

Fund-raising (Adrienne, Heather, Jesse)

Zimfest Association continues to work on setting up an investment account in order to receive gifts of stock/securities.

Annual Campaign

• Heather suggested sending letters giving our community a heads up leading up to Giving Tuesday.
• Jesse wrote two letter drafts, to hopefully go out next week and the week of Giving Tuesday.
• We will add to the letter that we have operating costs even in an off year and that the festival lost money in 2025.
• We will cross post the letter along with a video on Facebook and Instagram.
• Jesse will revise the letter and Heather and Jesse will get the letter out next week. Mandy will help with the social media posting.

Concert Recording Use (Parker and Claire)

(Long-term) Proposal to use 2025 evening concert recordings done by Alex to produce a Zimfest 2025 recording for sale to support Zimfest. This discussion has been tabled until the next meeting due to time constraints.

Zimfest 2027 (Claire)

Response from Kelli with Central Washington University Conference Services: Zimfest is penciled in for Aug. 5-8, 2027, but will let us know if an earlier date is possible.

The shady area to the NE of the SURC is rentable, and if we want all outdoor concerts there, we will have to comply with the 10 PM city noise ordinance and change our scheduling. Logistical advantages and community interest make this a really attractive option despite the timing restriction.

Board Member Terms (Maria)

Terms are 2 years, with no limit on the number of terms a member can serve. We have been trying to review terms every two years to have members reevaluate their commitment.
