Legacy Giving to Zimfest

Greetings,

The Zimfest Association has received questions from some generous community members regarding opportunities to support the festival through legacy giving. If you are considering this form of contribution, we encourage you to consult a trusted financial advisor about including a charitable bequest into your estate plan. Such arrangements may be structured through a will, a living trust, or a donor-advised fund (thanks to Janis Weeks for suggesting this option!).

Zimfest Association is able to accept monetary donations via bequest. Please be aware that, at this time, we are unable to accept gifts of appreciated stock or property. If you wish to inform Zimfest Association of your intent to contribute in this manner, or if you have further questions regarding the process, please contact us at treasurer[at]zimfest[dot]org.

Best Regards,
Claire Jones on behalf of the ZA Board

(P.S. – don’t forget to spread the word that the Festival Coordinator job is open for Applications!

Although a DAF (donor-advised fund) can be used for *legacy* giving (i.e., after you have joined the ancestors), it’s also a handy option, with potential tax advantages, in the present. I use this option for charitable giving; in addition to our Zimfest treasurer, I’m happy to discuss how this works. janis. weeks[at]gmail.com.
