CWU Smoking, Alcohol and Drug Policies
Smoking/Tobacco
Central Washington University prohibits smoking and all forms of tobacco, e-cigarettes and vape use in all public spaces. Certain areas are delineated as “non-smoking” or “smoking” with posted signs prohibiting or permitting smoking as appropriate. FYI, the east and west patios of the SURC are designated as non-smoking.
Alcohol
Alcohol is not allowed in campus public spaces, but guests 21 and older may consume alcohol in the privacy of their rooms.
Marijuana and other Drugs
CWU does not allow the possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs by students, employees or participants in university events such as Zimfest. Possession, consumption or being under the influence of any form of cannabis, marijuana or CBD in any amount is not allowed on campus.
KVEC Smoking, Alcohol and Drug Policies
Be mindful of those around you. Illicit drug use, drunkenness, and disorderly conduct are prohibited at the Kittitas Valley Event Center.
Smoking/Tobacco
Kittitas Valley Event Center prohibits smoking within 25 ft of other campsites or buildings. This applies to all forms of tobacco, e-cigarettes and vape use.
Alcohol
Alcohol is allowed within your designated campsite for campers at least 21 years of age.
Marijuana and other Drugs
KVEC does not allow the possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs. It is illegal to open a package containing marijuana or to use products containing marijuana in view of the public (RCW 69.50.445).
