Festival Costs

Registration

Registration Fee $15 per person Required when signing up for workshops, housing or meals. This fee is waived for Zimfest Association members, those only buying concert tickets or those only signing up for volunteer shifts.

July 20, 2018, is the last date to register online for housing and meals.

Most Workshops $17.50 per hour
Presentations $10.00 per hour

Meals (at Valsetz Food Court)

Meal Plan Prices

All Zimfest participants staying in the dorms must purchase meals from WOU dining services.
Those staying two or more nights must choose between the All-Meal Plan and the Weekend Plan:

  • All-Meal Plan ($89) consists of 11 meals: Thursday dinner through Monday breakfast.
  • Weekend Plan ($43) consists of 5 meals: lunch and dinner only on Friday and Saturday; lunch on Sunday

Those staying only one night must purchase at least two meals in the Overnight Plan, but are free to purchase either of the other meal plans:

  • Overnight Plan ($16.25) consists of 2 meals: dinner the night before and breakfast the morning after

Individual Meal Prices

Pre-purchased meal prices are the same as onsite cash prices.

Housing

All Zimfest participants renting WOU rooms will be housed in Ackerman, Barnum and Butler Halls. WOU housing policy states that “the maximum number of guests in a room is not to exceed the number of beds placed in a room by University at the time of check-in.”

All prices are per room, per night, and all rooms will have linens supplied.

You must sign up and pay for your housing ahead of time through online registration. WOU cannot guarantee that rooms will be available to rent onsite.

Ackerman Hall

Traditional residence hall rooms with shared community bathrooms.

Two- or three-person suites with outside entrances, private bathrooms and shared sleeping areas.

Lost Key/Fob Charges: The fee for failing to turn in (or losing) a room key and fob is $75.00 for Ackerman Hall and $50 for Barnum or Butler Hall! Please remember to turn in your key and fob upon departure. Do not leave them in the rooms!

Family Discount on Housing

If your family (at least one parent with two or more children below the age of 12) wishes to request a family housing discount, please contact us at gro.t1539758107sefmi1539758107z@gni1539758107suoh1539758107 before you register and pay for housing, so that we can determine your eligibility and enter up to 20% discount off your housing costs.

Tent and RV Camping

The charge for either tent or RV camping is $10 per night (per tent or RV).
All tents and recreational vehicles must display their registration number prominently.

Afternoon Concerts

Afternoon concerts are free! No tickets are needed; just show up. Enjoy the African Marketplace too.

You may purchase tickets in advance along with your online registration, or you may buy them at the door. All tickets at the door are one price, regardless of performer status. Performers requesting complimentary entrance must be listed on the band roster prior to the festival and may enter only one concert for free.
