WOU Parking, Policies and Disabled Access


Parking for Zimfest participants will be free from noon Wednesday August 7 through noon Monday Aug. 12 in parking lots F, G, H, J and J loop only, with no parking permit required. You will be ticketed if you park anywhere else on the WOU campus. For information on parking in other WOU campus lots, see the WOU Parking Regulations.

WOU Smoking, Alcohol and Drug Policies


WOU is a tobacco-free campus. Smoking and all forms of tobacco use (including e-cigarettes and/or vaping) are prohibited on all university property (indoors and outdoors) and in all vehicles on campus.


Alcohol is not allowed in campus public spaces, but guests 21 and older may consume alcohol in the privacy of their rooms, tents or RVs.


The use or possession of any drugs on university grounds is strictly prohibited. Marijuana use is not permitted on campus (even though marijuana is legal in Oregon).

Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance

The federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 requires that persons with disabilities have equal opportunity to enjoy campus programs, activities, and benefits. The Zimfest 2019 Organizing Committee will work together with Western Oregon University to meet our responsibilities with respect to persons with disabilities. We will make every attempt to ensure that procedures are in place with respect to accommodating, and providing access to, Zimfest participants with disabilities.

Notification Deadline

Individuals needing assistance or special accommodation to fully participate in the 2019 Zimbabwean Music Festival should notify the WOU Office of Disability Services at 503-838-8250 or at least one week in advance of the event, or by August 2, 2019. Western Oregon University will in turn notify Zimfest organizers of any requests. Please feel free to make inquiries of the Zimfest Organizing Committee at at any date before then.
