What is an RSS feed and how do I use it?
RSS feeds give you an easy way to find out when web sites have been updated, and to quickly view news summaries from dozens of your favorite sites. A huge number of web sites now provide RSS feeds, a technology which has been rapidly gaining popularity over the past couple years. Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for distributing web content.
There are several ways to access RSS news headlines. Most people download, install, and use a newsreader application like FeedDemon (Windows), SharpReader (Windows), NetNewsWire (Mac OS X), or AmphetaDesk (Win/Mac/Linux). Or you could use a web-based news aggregator like BlogLines, FastBuzz, or Feedster. And web browsers themselves are starting to incorporate RSS syndication (Opera, Mozilla Firefox with an extension, and Apple Safari, with other browsers likely to follow).
